I’m happy to once again be part of the Saint Paul Almanac this year. I’ve written a short piece, with Molly LaBerge Taylor, about the early years of arts programming in St. Paul. Molly originated Poets in the Schools in Minnesota, and I was her first staff member. Our offices were in the Landmark Center. She had a big office and desk and I happily occupied a turret! We’ve stayed friends for more than forty years, and the piece is bookended by a photo from the seventies, and one taken much more recently. This year’s Saint Paul Almanac will be launched in September.
