“I have to admit that I am a born and raised Minnesotan, so this may color my review. But, I am just loving this book and have recommended it for purchase by our selector who is planning to purchase it. I recommend it to all Minnesota Libraries, as well as libraries where there is an interest in theater. I would strongly recommend this as a potential reading assignment for a college course on theater or the arts in general. In addition, this would make a great text book for use with a high school theater course. I guess I was not expecting it to be as technical about the art of theater as it is – but it is in a very good way! It gives an explanation of the process of theater and a good description of a variety of the artists from playwright to director to stage manager to costumer to actor, etal. In addition, it includes many wonderful quotes from those involved in the process. The love of the theater just jumps off the page. Reading this book makes me want to run out and buy theater tickets! I cannot recommend highly enough!”
